Ships from around the world will join many of Canada's finest sailing
vessels to form the largest international gathering of world-class Tall
Ships® in
North America in 2007. This
years Cape Breton festival is taking place - starting July 17 in
Louisbourg and Port Hawkesbury, and then continues on in Sydney until July
22 |

Louisbourg is
located on the shores of a naturally ice-free
harbour, and has been a welcoming haven for
travelers for over 250 years. Louisbourg has a
strong connection to the sea and the town is an
important port for the landing of a variety of
sea creatures including lobster, crab, and
shrimp. Enjoy viewing the Tall Ships along the
harbourfront boardwalk, with the magnificent
background of the Fortress
of Loiusbourg
protecting all who enter the harbour. The
diversity of the physical landscape of the
surrounding area of rocky coasts, and sandy
beaches, and the hospitality of the people make
this town a place to be explored and savoured. |
